Jari and Kaisa Peltomäki

Kaisa and Jari Peltomäki are a Finnish husband and wife team. Both are professional nature photographers and together they run the travel agency Finnature, which specialises in bird and photography trips. Nature photography is their passion and this is evident in all their activities and approaches.

Jari has decades of experience as an ornithologist, field guide and a professional wildlife photographer, for which he is internationally respected. He has published many books and he has written numerous articles about wildlife and photography. Over the years, Jari has received dozens of awards for his photos and has also judged many photography competitions including WPY and GDT. Jari was Nikon Ambassador 2012-2016 and he has been an Olympus visionary since 2017.

Kaisa began her photography career in 2007 taking photos for marketing purposes, but nowadays her artistic approach to nature photography has inspired many wildlife photographers, especially in her home country of Finland. Jari’s extensive experience combined with Kaisa’s background, experience and youthful enthusiasm for the visual arts creates an interesting combination for nature photography and the judging process.

This dynamic duo seeks their inspiration from nature, and from producing and encouraging wildlife photography of the highest standard. With all their activities, their aim is to increase the well-being and appreciation of nature by offering the public wonderful experiences both seeing and photographing the wonders of the natural world.
