Tamás Koncz-Bisztricz

My name is Tamás Koncz-Bisztricz, I was born on April 21, 2004. I live in Csongrád and study at the local János Batsányi High School. I have been involved with photography since I was a child. When I was younger, buses and trains were my main subjects, I took photos using the family camera. My parents and I go on a lot of hikes in domestic landscapes, mountains and the Great Plain. This is one of the reasons why I developed a love of nature. In 2014, my family and I visited Hortobágy, where I found a flyer advertising the “Varázslatos Hortobágy” (Magical Hortobágy) photo competition. I really liked the idea of applying. That's when I got a bridge Fujifilm camera from my parents. From then on, photographing nature became a continuous occupation. From 2015, I will also participate in the “Varázslatos Magyarország” (Magical Hungary) competition. In the same year, I won 3rd place in the Man in Nature category. This result gave me a big push to continue. My father is my teacher, from him I learned the small tricks of photography.

My favorite subjects are atmospheric landscapes and wild animals. For Christmas 2017, my parents gave me a DJI drone. In 2018, this was decisive, many pictures were taken with it. Among them are "The Eye", "Cradle of Life" and "Icebreakers", which were exhibited at the Nature Photographer of the Year 2018 exhibition. In the 2018 “Varázslatos Magyarország” contest, I won 2nd place in the Nature video contest in Motion. I won 1st place in the Man in Nature category and won the compact category. At the end of 2018, a Canon EOS 7D Mark II was purchased with the help of the MOL talent support program. I can take much better quality pictures with this machine. I participate in several international contest, with more or less success, the most important result for me the Young Bird Photographer of the Year 2019.

My favorite places are Fülöp-tó in Pusztaszer, Bokros-puszta and Nagy-tó in Tiszaalpár. I owe a lot to Sándor Kovács and Attila Szilágyi, they tried to pass on their enormous knowledge and helped me with any ideas I had, if they could. I really like to photograph free wild animals, which I can do in Bugac and Pusztaszer near my home. It's a great experience when a deer or wild boar lives its hidden life a few meters away from me. I also take pictures from a low angle or camouflaged. We often visit Gemenc, where our friend István Krizák, who I look up to, helps us. Another favorite subject of mine is birds, in 2018 it was a great experience to catch a long-eared grebe on the Csongrád section of the Tisza, from about 10 meters away. I hope I can show people something new about nature with my photos, and I think it's good to pass on the magic of the moment.
